A Story of Successful Filipino Entrepreneur with Chicken Inasal

Only an Ilonggo knows how an authentic chicken inasal should taste. This is what Treena Cueva-Tecson, a genuine Ilongga, born and raised in Bacolod, carries with her when she openned her Tambokikoy restaurant which sells authentic chicken inasal – cooked and prepared the way a genuine inasal should be. “The inasal in Manila are sweet, dry and not cooked well, I know how inasal should taste like. Ilonggos would really know the authentic taste of inasal,” said Treena, who has a full-time marketi

ERASERHEADS REUNION CONCERT IN CINEMAS

The most talked about Reunion concert of the Eraserheads will give chance to the big fan population (including myself) who missed the live concert to relive the August 30, 2008 moment right at the comforts of our most favored cinemas. Yes you heard it right! It’s the Eraserheads concert in cinemas! And yes, I know it’s nice of tardy to write about but, I am just really thrilled by the idea that I can somehow feel the live concert energy even it is canned and playing on the white wide screen. T

NAMETS gid ya bala!

Posted by ifoundme on November 28, 2008 No, I don’t have anything to do with this. In fact, the only connection i have with this one is that I’m a Bacolodnon (and a Negrense as well) and this film has 100% Bacolod element… well, except for Angel Jacob who’s not really from here. BUT there’s always an exception. We can always adopt her if she wants to. Namets is an independent Hiligaynon film directed by Jay Abello and starred by Christian Vasquez, Angel Jacob, Peque Gallaga, Dwight Gaston, and

Aloha Medical Mission Goes to Silay City, Philippines

Just a week ago, I returned from the Philippines for a medical mission with Aloha Medical Mission (AMM), a Honolulu-based secular, nonprofit, volunteer organization that provides free health care to below-served people overseas and in Hawaii. I was part of an overseas surgery mission to Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines — a group comprised of 13 doctors, 10 nurses, and 9 lay person volunteers. From Honolulu we every flew into the city of Manila and took a commuter plane to the city of Ba

Farewell Tricia!!

When I arrived here in Bacolod last October, I have enjoyed my afternoon alone at home with our landlady’s dog named Tricia. She is just a local breed but looks pretty cute with her black stick fur. Every time my hubby and I buy food outside, I always bring home the leftovers or buy I would buy a meal just for her. Unfortunately, early evening last night, while the whole neighborhood was in pitch black because of an electricity failure, our landlady found Tricia dead lying on the ground. We rea

Apart and Still Limited

My daughter and my son have just completed their first day away from each other for the first time. It seems that they already missed each other since both always asked about how each other is doing. My daughter sends me constant text messages while my son asks about his sister. Though it’s making me unhappy, we every need to sacrifice so that the family will be intact sooner this Christmas and hopefully next year. I am really praying that life would be nice to us this time. Anyway, I am also quite h

our Philippine vacation 2nd week roundup

Today marks the second week of our arrival in the Philippines. We haven’t gone to any beach resorts or any points of interest in the country.  This isn’t a tour-every-around-the-country nice of vacation anyway but more of staying-at-home-to-relax nice of thing, NOT!  Hah!  I wish I receive to relax really. Having an energetic toddler makes it impossible.  She has to be watched over more keenly than in Prague coz the home isn’t baby-friendly; there’s a long flight of stairs that she loves to climb, t
